Neighborhood
House of Whales building is painted in green, beige and burgundy, as the grass in the hills surrounding the whole area. Located in between ¨Rueiro das figueiras street¨ and ¨Plaza Virxen dos Milagros street¨ the old fisherman district from the Villa.
From the big terrace you can see the whole area, the harbour, with ¨O Castelo¨ & ¨O Castelete¨, ¨A Pinasa¨, the ¨Ribeira¨. In the other side the place called ¨O Concheiro¨, the beach and we also have the views of the sun going down.
From the building we have almost everything from 1 min walking. The beach, the harbour, the town square and the cafés and shops.
Caión is a very small town, but you can go grocery shopping and having a good time at the bars around, having a coffee, a vermú or a wine!

Water activities
Caión has different aquatic options. Our Salseiras beach is one of the best in the area for surfing.
Hiking and cycling
We have a promenade that goes all the way to Baldaio beach, passing through Furna Furada, it is about 8 km long. It is a perfect route for lovers of hiking and mountain biking.
Museums
Caión has ¨Arquivo da pesca¨ a marine museum that represents the nautical and fishing history of the village.
Also in the community building Costa da morte we have a library and different exhibitions, theatre, and cultural activities etc…
Festivals
We have different gastronomic festivals, as well as the festivities of Carmen, Corpus Christi, and the famous Romeria de los milagros.
Os Rueiros da Vila is a day of concerts within the activities of the festivities of the miracles, on different stages in the streets of Caión. From our terrace you can enjoy the stage Rueiro das figueiras.
City council and local entities:
In the summer season there are different leisure and cultural activities organised by the town council, such as theatre, cinema, dance etc…
The cultural association Arume, traditional Galician music and dance, also organises different cultural events throughout the year.
Shopping + Food
The Villa has several shops such as the Pharmacy ¨Rosario Piñon Labrador¨, the tabacco and newspaper shop ¨Juana Maceiras¨ where you can find some of our souvenirs. On the same street the supermarket and bread factory from ¨Diego Maceiras¨
For the Veggie lovers and from the heart of the Villa you can find Elena´s fresh vegetables.
Seafood lovers count with ¨Mariscos Marenor¨ a cetarea. A family business founded in the mid 80s by Toribio Garcia.
There is no bank in town, but the mobile office comes every friday from 11 to 13.30 to town square. There you can find a cash machine. The rest of the days you will have to get the cash in the nearest town Laracha or Arteixo.
